     The Arapaho Ranch is located in southern Sheridan County, Nebraska approximately 6 miles north of the community of Lakeside. Set in the scenic Sandhills of Nebraska, the Arapaho Ranch is comprised of 8,925 deeded acres +/- and 2,560 acres of State Lease for a total of 11,485 acres +/-. Owned and operated by the same family for the past 28 years, the Arapaho Ranch is one of the finest working ranches in the state.
   The Arapaho Ranch enjoys a nice balance of productive sub-irrigated hay meadows and well managed native grass pastures. There are 4 hay meadows comprising a total of 1,500 acres. The remainder of the ranch is cross fenced into 33 pastures. The fencing is in excellent condition and maintained on an annual basis. Water is provided via 29 windmills and various lakes throughout the ranch. There are well placed evergreen tree shelter belts and metal windbreaks scattered through the ranch. On the western side of the ranch there is a wire sorting pen for working cattle. The carefully tended sandhill pastures are a reflection of the excellent land stewardship that has utilized responsible grazing and blow-out prevention. 
     Improvements on the ranch include 2 homes, steel corrals, a sale barn, horse barn, calving barn, machine shop and numerous other outbuildings. The sale barn is a 40’ X 60’ Quonset with electricity, water and a furnace.   The horse barn has 6 double stalls, 2 single stalls, 2 tack rooms and a full hay loft. The calving barn is a 99’ X 30’ barn built in 1985. It features 20 calving pens and a heated observation room. As you tour the ranch, you will notice the ranch’s infrastructure was designed with one goal in mind; working cattle.
